Pet Friendly Housing

Keystone will offer a pet friendly residence hall as a housing option beginning in the fall 2024 semester. Tewksbury Hall has been designated as a “pet friendly residence” for students residing there. The new designation applies not only to pets, usually dogs, classified as emotional support animals, but also to other traditional, non-emotional support pets as well. The four-story residence hall has two floors of male residents and two floors of female residents.

Students wishing to bring a pet to reside with them in Tewksbury Hall, the Pet Friendly Residence Hall must complete the Pet Friendly Residence Hall Registration Packet prior to bringing the pet to campus. Completed packet is due to Student Life Office (or via email to residencelife@cookbookss.com) for Fall 2024, no later than August 15, 2024, if you wish to bring your pet with you on move-in day. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis beginning on September 1, 2024.

The Keystone College Pet Residence Hall Policy allows Tewksbury residents the privilege of bringing their long-term pet, defined by Keystone College to have been under the primary care of the resident or their family for at least three (3) months and being of at least six (6) months of age (for cats and dogs), and Emotional Support Animals to campus.

The Pet Residence Hall Policy provides the guidelines by which this can be accomplished.

Every pet owner is encouraged to consider carefully the advantages and disadvantages of the campus environment for their pet.

What is a pet?

Pets are considered by the Office of Student and Residence Life to be cats, dogs (under 40 lbs. with breed restrictions explained later in this policy), rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, and fish. No other pet types will be considered at this time.
